The city of Providence provides a sophisticated and lively environment for Brown students. It’s like a mini-Boston minus the hustle and bustle of a large city. City streets like Thayer run through the university area and offer interesting diversions in an eclectic atmosphere. There’s a one screen movie theatre which often runs foreign language films, many recently released from the Cannes film festival.
